My family

This is my favorite picture from our family get together over 4th July. It had been 11 years since I visited the family in PA, way too long. My oldest son was just a toddler when we last visited. Although it had been so long, I felt right back at home with my extended "American family". I grew up in Scotland but some of our family had emigrated to the USA in the 1960's. As a child, we would fly over and spend the summer in NY, OH and PA. I have such fond memories. When we lived in VA, it was quite easy to get up there to visit but since moving out west and having the kids, we just haven't made it back there. Now my own boys have fond memories of these awesome people. We got to spend Independence day in small town America. It was perfect. There was great people, good food, fireworks (everywhere) and fire flies! What more could you want?

I wish I could figure out how to post it, but 11 years ago we took a family picture in the exact same spot and I swear nobody looks any older. There are several more kiddos in the front row this time, which is awesome! This is a reminder that there is nothing more important than FAMILY and I am blessed with a great one!
